Poor suction effect of industrial dust collector and decreased ventilation? How to solve it?

There are usually two possible reasons for poor suction in a newly installed dust collector: the filter air velocity exceeds the design value, or the filtering accuracy of the filter media is low.

Filtration wind speed exceeds the design value: If a new equipment is just put into operation soon after the poor suction effect, after checking, the dust on the surface of the filter element is not much, the dust cleaning system works normally, and the dust can fall off from the surface of the filter element after the off-line dust cleaning, but once the equipment is running the differential pressure of the filter element rises again quickly in a short period of time, which is often a typical feature of the design of the dust removal system is too small.

The new filter element has good permeability, the actual air volume after the operation of the equipment reaches or exceeds the designed maximum air volume, the differential pressure of the filter element rises abnormally fast, and the measured wind speed value at the scene is often larger than the design value, which eventually leads to poor suction effect at the front of the dust collector. At this time, you need to adjust the opening degree of the damper to control the actual air volume.

Low filtration precision of the filter media: there is no powder cake layer on the surface of the new filter media, which can not effectively intercept the small particle size dust on the site, and part of the dust is drilled into the interior of the filter media, which reduces the permeability of the filter element.

There are three reasons that may lead to the poor suction effect of the dust collector in use: aging or breakage of the filter element after a long time of use, clogging of the filter element with dust or aging of the equipment.

Filter cartridge aging or broken after a long time of use: after a long time of use, the filter cartridge may be due to aging or external bad cleaning dust leads to the filter cartridge surface cake layer thickening, increasing the airflow through the resistance, thus affecting the suction effect.

Filter dust clogging, decreased permeability: dust accumulates on the filter element for a long time, if not cleaned in time, it will lead to filter element clogging, especially in the humid working environment, the dust on the surface of the filter element is easy to agglomerate, resulting in a significant decrease in its own permeability, affecting the effect of dust extraction.

Equipment aging: after a long time of use, the equipment may appear aging, wear and tear and other problems, resulting in system leakage, filtering air velocity exceeds the design value.

There are two main reasons for the decrease of dust collector ventilation:

Increase in resistance of filter element: no matter what the reason is, resulting in the accumulation of dust on the filter element, the resistance will gradually increase, thus affecting the ventilation.

Pulse cleaning system failure: such as the pulse valve can not act normally, insufficient pressure of the air source, etc., which may lead to incomplete cleaning of the dust, the powder cake layer on the surface of the filter element gradually becomes thicker, which in turn affects the amount of ventilation.

Regular inspection and replacement of filter element: regularly check the aging and breakage of the in-use filter element and replace it in time, and the filter element used for more than 1 year is recommended to be replaced. Choose the filter element material with high filtration precision, good quality, wear-resistant and easy to clean.

Regular cleaning of the filter element: to avoid clogging of the filter element, it can be thoroughly cleaned by pulse airflow offline dust cleaning and other methods during the production interval. According to the set pressure difference value to make the cleaning, replacement plan, to ensure that the filter element is always in good condition.

Equipment upgrading and renovation: If the equipment is aging or the design is unreasonable, you can consider upgrading or renovating the equipment to improve the dust removal effect and ventilation.

Strengthen operation training: Ensure that operators are familiar with the operating procedures and maintenance requirements of the equipment to avoid problems caused by misoperation.

Establish maintenance records: Record information such as the operation of the equipment, maintenance conditions and the time of replacing the filter cartridge, which will help detect problems and take preventive measures in time.
